Owen Freeman transferring: 5 landing spots for Iowa big man

Marquette extended an offer to Freeman while he was in high school and may have renewed interest in adding him in the coming weeks. Despite being ranked as high as No. 5 earlier this season, the Golden Eagles have struggled in comparison to the past two years, finishing tied for fourth in the Big East while earning a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The struggles have in part stemmed from lacking a true post presence following Oso Ighodaro’s departure. While 6-foot-11 junior Ben Gold has been a solid contributor, he lacks the physicality someone like Freeman can provide down low. Royce Parham, a 6-foot-8 freshman forward, has shown nice potential, but the Golden Eagles need frontcourt depth and Freeman would be a valuable addition for a Marquette team that will have a different look in 2025-26 without Kam Jones.
