9. Fernando Tatis Jr., OF (2019-present)

Tatis Jr. is one of two active players on this list who could move up the ranks by the time all is said and done. Tatis Jr. has been a catalyst for the Padres making three postseason appearances since 2020 thanks to his clutch hitting and powerful bat. The outfielder finished in the top five of MVP voting in both 2020 and 2021. His 2021 season was his most successful to date as he made the first of two career All-Star appearances while leading the National League in home runs (42). A season-long PED suspension that led Tatis Jr. to miss 2022 is a blemish on his resume, but he returned strong, posting back-to-back seasons of 20 or more home runs in 2023 and 2024. The 2023 Gold Glove Award winner and two-time Silver Slugger continues to prove he is one of the brightest stars to ever play in San Diego.
