Top 10 highest-rated Virginia HS football players since 2000
10. Christian Hackenberg – 0.9927
One of the best signal-callers the state of Virginia has ever seen, Hackenberg was a force to be reckoned with during his time at Fork Union Military Academy. A three-year starter under center, Hackenberg threw for 5,473 yards and 55 touchdowns on his way to Under Armour All-American honors. He committed to Penn State University following his high school career.
During his time in Happy Valley, Hackenberg became the most prolific passer in Nittany Lions history as he finished his career as Penn State leader in career passing yards (8,457), passing touchdowns (48) and total offense (8,215) in 38 career games. After his collegiate career, Hackenberg was selected with the No. 51 overall pick of the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. Unfortunately for Hackenberg, his professional career didn’t go as planned as he finished his time in the NFL without ever taking a regular-season snap in four seasons.
