Zach Eflin on the trade block?: 5 possible landing spots
Cleveland Guardians
The Guardians have had a strong campaign and currently sit atop the American League standings. While Cleveland’s pitching staff has been decent overall, there is still room for improvement, especially among its starting group. That could make Eflin an attractive target as the deadline nears, particularly as he would be under team control next season as well. The Guardians have seen solid years in the rotation from Tanner Bibee and Ben Lively, but Logan Allen, Carlos Carrasco and Triston McKenzie have really struggled, all posting an ERA over 5.00 this season. McKenzie was recently sent to the minors due to his struggles, creating a need for another starter in Cleveland. Eflin’s consistency and experience could ultimately give the Guardians the arm they may need to get back to the World Series for the first time since 2016.
